Nominations Sought for MDDA Board

Parliament

The portfolio committee on communications seeks nominations for the appointment of four members to the Board of the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA).

The four vacancies are for non-executive board members.

According to the invitation, the MDDA was set up to enable “historically disadvantaged communities and persons not adequately served by the media to gain access to the media”.

Nominations are invited until 21 December 2018.

Meanwhile, in another statement, the committee calls for nominations to fill four vacancies on the South African Broadcasting Corporation Board.

The vacancies are also for non-executive board members.

They arise from the withdrawal of Ms Nomvuyiso Batyi and the resignation of Ms Rachel Kalidass, Ms Febbe Potgieter-Gqubule and Mr Victor Rambau.

The appointees will serve for the remainder of the term of office of the current board.

Nominations are invited until 21 December 2018.
