University of Witwatersrand’s Institutional Statute Amended

The University of Witwatersrand’s Institutional Statute has been amended.

The department of higher education and training published the University’s amended institutional statute in Notice 117 in Government Gazette 41445.

The contents of the amended statute document include the following:

•    Part 1: Definitions and interpretations;
•    Part 2: The University;
•    Part 3: Governance structures;
•    Part 4: Office-bearers;
•    Part 5: Advisory bodies;
•    Part 6: Students governance;
•    Part 7: Other student-related matters;
•    Part 8: Convocation; and
•    Part 9: General provisions.

Meanwhile, the department published the following standards:

•    Notice 57 – Standard for the specifications for load files for the community education and training management information system (CETMIS).

The purpose of the specification is to provide Community Education and Training (CET) colleges with a description of the standard layout, content and business rule for the submission of data to CETMIS.

The standard applies to all CET colleges in South Africa; and

•    Notice 58 – Data Dissemination Standard.

The purpose of the specification is to provide Post-School Education and Training a standard process to be followed by the department in disseminating data and statistics publication on the PSET sector to the public, and also to make the public aware of what information is made available to them.
