Hairdressing Bargaining Council Extends Agency Shop Collective Agreement

The National Bargaining Council for the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty and Skincare Industry’s agency shop collective agreement has been extended to non-parties.

The labour department published the extension notice in Government Gazette 41225 in terms of the Labour Relations Act.

The extension shall be binding with effect from the second Monday after the date of publication until 31 December 2018.

Meanwhile, in Gazette 41224, the department has published a notice of intention by the Registrar of Labour Relations to cancel the registration of Border Industrial Employers Association.

The association has ceased to function in terms of its constitution.

Objections are invited within 60 days of the date of publication.

In a separate matter, the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa has applied to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration for a demarcation order to determine under which Bargaining Council the manufacturing of Timber Plastics and PET chips resorts.

Comment is invited within 21 calendar days of the date of publication.
